Back in 1994 when Disney first released the imaginative, inspired new series Gargoyles, they couldn't have foreseen the ripple of excitement it would create and the fans it would gather. It was much more than a typical animated series. It was deeper, more mature and dynamic, weaving a tapestry of stories and characters in a world that almost seemed real. As a result, it developed a large fan base among people of all backgrounds, genders, and ages. From 1997 to 2009, the fans of Gargoyles came together each summer to celebrate the show.  But just as a gargoyle can no more stop protecting the castle than breathing the air, eventually all good things must come to an end. It was with bittersweet regret that staff of The Gathering of the Gargoyles announced in June 2009 that the 2009 convention in Los Angeles would be the last for the foreseeable future. Thirteen conventions made for a run lasting longer than many had ever imagined when we gathered for the first time in 1997, and for that we should all be very proud. This site remains online to help keep alive the memory of those conventions and to provide news of upcoming events that may be of interest to Gargoyles fans. Last updated on January 28, 2013.
